AIRFRAME & POWERPLANT TECHNICIAN CREED
Upon our honor, we swear that we shall hold in sacred trust the rights and privileges conferred upon us as FAA certificated Airframe and Powerplant Technicians.
We know full well that the safety and lives of others are dependent upon our skill and judgment and shall never subject others to risks which we would not be willing to assume for ourselves. That includes, recommendations for ANY aviation products.
In discharging this trust, we pledge ourselves to only undertake work or approve work or sell products which we know to be within the limits of our knowledge and to be of the highest quality possible. We will never allow any certified or non-certificated superior, customer or associate to persuade us to approve aircraft or equipment as airworthy against our better judgment.
Our judgment shall never be swayed or be influenced by money or other personal gain. We shall only pass as airworthy, aircraft or equipment about which we are absolutely certain by direct inspection. That means also, any uncertainty regarding the ability of others who have worked on it to accomplish their work satisfactorily.
We realize 24/7 the grave responsibility which is ours as certificated airman, to exercise our judgment on the airworthiness of aircraft and equipment.
We, therefore, pledge unyielding adherence to these precepts for the advancement of aviation and for the dignity of our vocation.
